Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Verification Information

When registering a vehicle with the state of Georgia, a Form T-22B may be required. This form certifies that a law enforcement officer has inspected the vehicle's identification number. This inspection ensures that the vehicle has not been reported stolen and that the affixed vehicle number matches the title/bill of sale.

Beginning Monday, July 1, 2024, the Conyers Police Department will provide VIN inspection services for City residents through a scheduled appointment. 

VIN verifications will be handled by APPOINTMENT ONLY at the below location:

1194 Scott Street

Conyers, Georgia 30012

Except for city holidays, general appointment availability is listed below:

• Tuesday 9:00 am -11:00 am and 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
• Wednesday 9:00 am -11:00 am and 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

City residents must bring the vehicle and all necessary documentation to the Conyers Police Department for a Conyers Police Officer to perform the VIN inspection.

You must bring each of the following to the appointment:

• Driver's License
• Proof of Insurance
• Tag and registration details
• Bill of Sale -Notarized
• Any other paperwork that can prove your ownership of the vehicle
• Proof of Residency residing within the City of Conyers
• Form T-22B

*Vehicles driven to the VIN inspection location are subject to all applicable Georgia traffic laws.

**If the registration window (30 days if purchased from a dealer or 7 days if purchased from a private party) has expired, your vehicle should be towed or transported to the inspection appointment.
