The Conyers City Council intends to increase the 2018 property taxes it will levy this year by 7.37 percentage over the rollback millage rate. The budget tentatively adopted by the Conyers City Council requires that a millage rate higher than the rollback millage rate, therefore, before the Conyers City Council may finalize the tentative budget and set a final millage rate, Georgia law requires three public hearings to be held to allow the public an opportunity to express their opinions on the increase.
All concerned citizens are invited to the public hearings on the tax increase to be held in the city manager's office at Conyers City Hall, 1184 Scott Street, Conyers, Georgia, on July 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., and 6:30 p.m. and on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. The Conyers City Council will hold a called meeting on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. in the city manager’s office at Conyers City Hall for the purpose of setting the millage rate.
