Dr. Stephen Preas, psychiatrist and addiction specialist, will address the impact of addiction on families and the effect of addiction on the brain and the science behind addiction treatment; the psychological impact on addicts and families; effective strategies to support recovery, set boundaries, and manage expectations; and share available support and resources. Addiction Epidemic: Helping Families Affected takes place at Rockdale Auditorium, 903 North Main Street in Olde Town Conyers, on Monday, August 21, 6-8 p.m. and is sponsored by the Stephen Ministry of Conyers First United Methodist Church.
