Occupation Tax (Business License) Registration

Interested in starting a business in Conyers? An important first step is to obtain an Occupation Tax Registration, or business license, for your new business.

All businesses operating within the City limits must register for an Occupation Tax Registration from the Planning and Inspection Services Department. Call before you sign a lease agreement to make certain that your business is located in the correct zoning district.

 To obtain an Occupation Tax Registration, follow these guidelines:

• Obtain an application from the Planning and Inspection Services office.
• Pass an inspection from the Rockdale County Fire Department and City of Conyers Planning and Inspection Services Department.
• Pay the appropriate occupation tax.
