Street Closings for Halloween Trick-or-Treating -

Conyers Police will close the following streets and intersections on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. to through-traffic due to the high volume of people expected in the Olde Town area for trick-or-treating:

Peek Street at Main Street
Irwin Bridge Road at Main Street
College Avenue from Lakeview Drive to Main Street 

Residents who live in the area will be allowed to enter and exit accordingly, but are encouraged to drive with the lights on and with caution.

Council Approves Downtown District -

Conyers residents participated in town hall meetings and public meetings throughout the summer in regards to the city's proposed changes to the historic overlay zoning district in Olde Town Conyers to the Downtown District (D). The Downtown (D) District was approved at the September 17 city council meeting. The final version of the ordinance and zoning map are below for citizens' information.

Shop with a Cop this Christmas -
The Conyers Police Department (CPD) is partnering with the Conyers Wal-Mart to help make this Christmas brighter for local children. The CPD, along with the Rockdale County Sheriff's Office (RCSO), are participating in the 7th Annual Shop with a Cop in which law enforcement personnel accompany children from families experiencing financial hardships to the Conyers Wal-Mart to shop for Christmas gifts. More
